Admissions Requirements
The University strives to recruit qualified students for pursuing various degrees at IUGB. Admissions requirements have been established in accordance with the University vision and approved by the IUGB Board. They are based on completion of secondary school, on personal qualities and good conduct.
Secondary Education
Completion of high school with diploma or equivalent certification
Personal Qualities
Demonstrated good conduct and commitment to academic excellence
Alternative Pathways
UPP or CCE options for those not meeting minimum requirements

Admission Procedure
Follow these steps to complete your application
Apply Early
Begin the admissions process early. Apply before Baccalauréat results for conditional admission.
Submit Documents
Complete your application file with all required documents and forms.
Meet Deadline
Submit one month before semester starts. Late applications considered for future semesters.
Begin Classes
Start in Fall, Spring, or Summer semester. Entry not allowed after 20% of semester elapsed.

Note: IUGB Residences are closed during academic vacations. International students should arrange alternative housing during these periods.
Transfer Credit: Request official transcripts be sent from all previous universities to the Registrar's Office. Transfer credit will be evaluated by the Deans. Final credits will appear on your IUGB transcript.
Visiting Students: Welcome to apply on a temporary basis. To receive University credit for courses taken, you must complete the same entrance requirements and placement tests as regular students.
Placement Testing
For applicants missing TOEFL® or IELTS® scores
Applicants missing TOEFL® or IELTS® scores will be tested for English placement. Based on the results, students will be placed at one of the following levels:
English Placement Test
The placement test evaluates your English proficiency to ensure you are placed in courses appropriate to your level, setting you up for academic success.
Admission Decisions
Upon application, the following statuses can be granted
Fully Admitted
ApprovedUndergraduate status granted. You meet all requirements and can begin regular coursework immediately.
Conditionally Admitted
ConditionalUndergraduate status with conditions. You may need to fulfill additional requirements during your first semester.
Pre-Undergraduate
UPP/CCESent to general advising for admittance to the University Preparatory Program (UPP) or Center for Continuing Education (CCE).
Not Admitted
DeclinedBased on prior low performance in UPP, CCE, or IUGB courses, discipline issues, or other factors.
University Preparatory Program
For students who need additional preparation before undergraduate studies
Entrance Criteria
Ivorian candidates must present proof of completing high school. Placement is recommended by Admissions based on transcripts, standardized tests (TOEFL®, IELTS®), IUGB entrance test, and interviews if needed.
Exit Criteria
Exit criteria is determined by GPA. Students wishing to exit UPP can take a standardized TOEFL® exam at any time during the academic year.

Deferred Enrollment
Students who wish to defer enrollment should inform the Admissions staff to postpone their start date.
Readmission
Readmission depends on whether departure was voluntary or involuntary. Conditions for reentry must be met.
Non-Credit Courses
Educational opportunities through the Center for Continuing Education are open to the public.
