Our purpose and guiding principles — shaping the future of higher education in West Africa since 2005.
The International University of Grand-Bassam
Located in the historic coastal city of Grand-Bassam, Côte d'Ivoire, IUGB is the first private-public partnership university offering an American-style liberal arts education entirely in English in Francophone West Africa.
Founded in 2005, IUGB delivers degree programs across the School of Business & Social Sciences and the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, preparing students for global careers and leadership.
Our curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and cross-cultural competency — the hallmarks of a true liberal arts education adapted to the African context.
